In his State of the Union address on Tuesday, the president announced that the United States would close American airspace to all Russian flights.

Biden told members of the House and Senate that Putin "has become isolated and the free world will hold him accountable for his actions."
Biden indicated that the Russian economy is "falling apart, and all the blame is on Putin," but he reassured that this situation will not affect the American economy, as he said: "We will protect American consumers and companies from the repercussions of the sanctions imposed against Russia."
This announcement comes after the European Union announced, on Tuesday, that it was in discussions with the United States to implement a ban on Russian flights, according to Reuters.
The European Union and Moscow had banned air travel between them due to the Russian military campaign against Ukraine, in a move that caused the blocking of air routes between East and West, and Washington has not yet ruled out implementing a similar decision against Russia.
The two companies, "United Airlines" and "UPS", said Tuesday that they would stop movement in Russian airspace, to join the "Delta Airlines" and "American Airlines".
