A delegation of US congressmen is visiting Taiwan, just 12 days after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's visit, which angered China.

Days after Pelosi's visit .. 5 members of Congress to Taiwan

China responded to Pelosi's visit by organizing maneuvers in which warships and combat aircraft participated, and launching missiles into the seas and airspace around Taiwan.

The American Institute in Taiwan said that the five-member delegation, headed by Democratic Senator Ed Markey from Massachusetts, is in Taiwan on Sunday and Monday, as part of a visit to Asia.

The delegation is scheduled to meet with senior leaders to discuss US-Taiwan relations, regional security, trade and investment, and other issues.

A Taiwanese TV channel showed a video clip of a US government plane landing at approximately seven in the evening at Songshan Airport in the Taiwanese capital, Taipei.

China claims self-governing Taiwan as its territory, and objects to any official contact with foreign governments.

Other members of the delegation are Republican Representative Omua Amata Coleman Radiowagen, representing Samoa in Congress, Democratic Representative John Garamendi, Alan Lowenthal of California, and Dawn Beyer of Virginia.

The Taiwan Defense Ministry says that Chinese fighters cross the middle point of the Taiwan Strait on a daily basis, despite the end of military exercises, with at least 10 fighters.

The ministry said on its Twitter account, on Sunday, that the 10 fighters were among 22 Chinese military aircraft and six naval ships, which were detected in the area around Taiwan by five o'clock in the evening.
