Tobu Railway announced that it would begin operation of its Oze Night Train 23:45 service on select Fridays and Saturdays in September and October.

This special train service offers travellers a unique opportunity to explore the natural beauty of Oze, a renowned hiking destination in Japan.

The train will run on the following dates: the 6th, 7th, 27th, and 28th September; and the 11th and 18th of October.

On the aforementioned dates, the Oze Night Train 23:45 leaves Tokyo Asakusa Station at 11:45 pm, arriving at Aizu Kogen Ozeguchi Station at 3:08 am the following morning. Upon arrival, passengers will board a connecting bus to Numayama Pass, reaching their destination at approximately 6:50 am.

A hiker’s wonderland

The Oze area is located in a highland that goes across three different prefectures: Fukushima, Gunma, and Niigata. It is Japan’s highest marshland and is surrounded by a 2,000m class mountain range.

The grand natural scenery, including the waterfalls and marshes, is incredibly appealing to hikers and nature lovers alike.

There are wooden paths set within the facilities, so even beginners can freely enjoy hiking here.
