CALL OF DUTY: VANGUARD OFFICIALLY RELEASED ON CONSOLES AND PC FOR NEXT NOVEMBER

Because chestnut trees are immortal, Activision has formalized the upcoming release date of Call of Duty: Vanguard , the next installment of the FPS franchise. Led by Sledgehammer Games, this new game marks the studio's return as lead developer, 4 years after the release of Call of Duty: WWII .

Call of Duty: Vanguard goes back a few decades to place its action in an alternative post-WWII story, and will also feature the presence of a Zombies mode developed by Treyarch.

Four specialists for a single player campaign

Vanguard's single-player campaign will take place, as usual in the series, across the globe. From the Western and Eastern fronts to the Pacific and North Africa, players will embark on a covert operation to eliminate Hitler's successor through the perspective of 4 international protagonists : American Wade Jackson, Briton Arthur Kingsley, Russian Polina Petrova and Australian Lucas Riggs. Note that unlike Call of Duty: WWII, the previous episode dedicated to World War II, Vanguard will ignore health packs and reintroduce automatic health regeneration in the game.

Sledgehammer has announced that this Vanguard episode will benefit from a deep integration with Call of Duty Warzone , the franchise's free-to-play battle royale style. In addition to the presence of the character of Polina Patrova already seen in Warzone , this year free-to-play will also see the arrival of a new play area drawn from the universe of Vanguard and described as “ the most ambitious map and the largest in the series to date, ”without further details.

Unfortunately, we haven't learned much about the multiplayer part of Call of Duty: Vanguard . Just do we know that twenty maps will be available at launch for the multiplayer mode which also relies on the introduction of dueling game modes playable in solo or in a squad of two to three players.

Treyarch back in Zombies mode

Always an integral part of the Call of Duty experience , Vanguard will also see the presence of the famous Zombies mode. Although this new episode of the franchise is developed by Sledgehammer, it is the Treyarch studio that will take care of the part dedicated to Zombies mode.

Treyarch had already taken care of the last episode of the Black Ops Cold War series and is once again at the helm of the famous multiplayer mode mixing paranormal and the living dead en masse. We still do not know if Vanguard's Zombies mode will continue the narrow and narrow story of the Zombies mode of the previous episodes ...

Call of Duty: Vanguard will be available on November 5 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S and PC.
