Russian filmmaker and actress take off to shoot movie scenes aboard International Space Station (WATCH LIVE)

Russian filmmaker Klim Shipenko and popular actress Yulia Peresild are flying to the International Space Station (ISS) today. They will film segments of an upcoming movie in space.

Shipenko and Peresild are sharing a spacecraft with veteran cosmonaut Anton Shkaplerov – his fourth mission to the ISS.

The filmmaker and actress have completed the necessary training. The movie they are working on is called ‘Vyzov’ (Challenge). It will be the first feature film to include scenes shot in space with a professional actor.

According to the producers, the film is about a doctor who travels to space to perform emergency surgery on a cosmonaut.
