Oakland: One man arrested after triple shooting

OAKLAND — Three people were shot Friday afternoon near a park east of Jack London Square, and one was detained as a possible shooting suspect, authorities said.

Shortly after 12:15 p.m., officers responded to reports of ShotSpotter activity along Embarcadero West east of the square. When officers arrived, they found two males suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the 200 block of Embarcadero West.

Paramedics and Oakland Fire Department firefighters also responded, providing care before taking the two men to a hospital. Each was listed in stable condition Friday night and expected to survive.

Sometime after the shooting, a third male suffering from a single gunshot wound arrived at a hospital and was later detained on unspecified charges in connection with the shooting.

For information leading to the arrest of a suspect, police are offering up to $5,000 in the shooting. Anyone with information may call police at 510-238-3426 or Crime Stoppers of Oakland at 510-777-8572.
